REVIEW | BRAVE NEW WORLD
★★★★★
"I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.”
I delighted in the thought provoking nature of this novel and I saw many similarities between Huxley's prophecies and the world I live in today (United States 2019). Although there were several dull chapters and the character development was ACTUALLY nonexistent, I have to admit that this book started a revolution in my mind regarding the way I think about entertainment and comfort. The life changing aspect of this novel leaves me no choice but to give it a five star rating, despite my complaints. And frankly, I could have done without the spoon feeding in chapter 16 but the rest of the book was supremely inspiring. I would recommend this book to anyone who values individuality, pursues critical thought, or enjoys speculative/dystopian/utopian fiction.
